The goal of this project was to learn publication design and book creation from the binding to cover. I have always wanted to learn minimal/modern design and I thought this book would be perfect because you have the Virtues of Design by Gui Bonsiepe which talks about great design and my second article from Reggie Watts which is a stream of conscience that tries to sound smart but loses you right at the very beginning. I thought that idea of an article that isn’t meant to make sense or be taken seriously in a modern/minimal design format would be amusing because it looks professional in design, but the text makes no sense. I like the idea of confusing the reader and making them feel lost in the book because the first article is so scholarly they would think the second would be as well but it is meant to confuse and disorient you. These 2 articles paired in a modern setting are meant to puzzle readers and make them feel as though they aren’t smart enough to grasp the text.
